Donation campaign for japan

2011-05-13 00:00

GIFT of the Givers (GoG) is running a Japan Earthquake/Tsunami campaign, to assist victims of the devastation in Japan by calling on pupils and students around the country to raise money.

GoG founder Dr Imtiaz Sooliman said the campaign sought to impart values of Ubuntu and humanity to “our children”, but will benefit a society which has not asked for what befell them.

Participating schools get forms with 30 columns, each representing a R10 donation. Each participating school receives a detergent hamper by Unilever and a trophy for their participation, while the highest collector in each class will receive a medal. Adults can also participate in their workplace, sport clubs and social groups.

To participate call 0800 786 911. — Witness Reporter.
