Don’t forget gumboots: Autumn chill expected at Splashy Fen

2012-04-06 00:00

WEATHER forecasts suggest this year’s Splashy Fen might be a little chilly, but not too unpleasant for an autumn camping trip.

The minimum temperature forecast for Underberg yesterday was 4ËšC, whilst the maximum was 24ËšC. Today’s forecast is 8ËšC to 25ËšC, with a 30% chance of rain. There will be clear skies tomorrow, with temperatures ranging from 8ËšC to 24ËšC. But the temperature will drop to between 6ËšC and 23ËšC on Sunday and there is a 17% chance of rain.

Captain Thulani Zwane said police and the local Road Traffic Inspectorate are fully prepared for the event.

Patrols will occur inside and outside the premises, vehicles will be stopped and people checked, Zwane warned.
