Drive to keep spirit high

THE last match has been played, Fifa are clearing out their local desks and the fans are packing to go home. But it’s not quite all over yet.

A national initiative to harness the goodwill and patriotism generated by the World Cup is appealing to all South Africans to keep flying the country’s flag high.

Explained on, the campaign aims to encourage people to keep flying their flags for 30 days more.

The website offers a free download of the icon. “This idea belongs to all of us. So please download this icon and use it everywhere … In whichever way you can, use it as a way of saying: I’m gonna keep my flag flying for 30 days …”
