A MOTHER and her son were robbed at their home IN Prince Alfred Street in Pietermaritzburg yesterday morning.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant Joey Jeevan said a 31-year-old man was leaving his driveway when he and his mother were confronted by two armed men.

“The men forced the family back into the house and demanded cash,” Jeevan said.

The suspects took R2 000 in cash, a firearm licence and banking cards before fleeing the scene.

“No shots were fired and no injuries were sustained,” she added.

Police later arrested a man nearby, and said investigations into the incident continue.

The victims declined to comment when contacted by The Witness.
