2011-11-01 00:00

A TRUCK driver is in police custody and has been charged with negligent driving and driving under the influence of alcohol after he lost control of his truck and crashed into two vehicles at the Izotsha crossing yesterday.

Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid said the driver of a horse and trailer was heading towards Port Shepstone when he lost control and swerved on to a grass embankment.

“He came back on to the road and swerved into an oncoming car and lost control again,” she said. The trailer swerved across the road and smashed into another oncoming vehicle.

A male occupant of one car and female occupant of the second were slightly injured. The child travelling with the female was unharmed.
