Durban: Police bust man with Mandrax

2011-10-19 00:00

THE Durban organised crime unit arrested a 31-year-old man at the weekend, who has appeared in the Durban Magistrates’ Court facing charges of possession of drugs.

Wesley David Strachan was remanded in custody until October 24 for a bail application.

A tip-off led unit members to a house in the Kenilworth area in Sydenham, Durban, on Sunday evening, where they found the suspect.

“Members recovered 10 068 mandrax tablets with a street value of more than R400 500,” said police spokesperson Captain Thulani Zwane.

Zwane said the bust was one of many that police are carrying out to rid the province of drugs.
