Durban teen a ‘vlogging’ hit

2013-09-21 00:00

FOLLOWING the latest trend of video-blogging or “vlogging”, teenage Durbanite Calvyn Justus has dedicated his YouTube channel to amusing viewers.

Hailing from Umhlanga and completing matric at Westville Boys’ High school this year, the 17-year-old started his channel, “Just Us Brah” in May this year and has since garnered 414 subscriptions and over 40 000 views on his channel.

Calvyn, who is a passionate swimmer for his school and the SA team, said he was inspired to start his YouTube channel after seeing videos posted by American college students on a channel called “Swimmerdudes”.

“I found it a fun and entertaining way to release some creativity and energy, hopefully being able to entertain others at the same time. I find laughter and smiling very important in my life,” Calvyn said.

“My videos average between 500 and 1 000 views, there has been one video which has over 20 000 views,” he said.

Calvyn posts his videos on YouTube every Monday.
