Earthquake: Bridge collapses, ancient pagodas damaged

A bridge that was damaged by a strong earthquake yesterday, in Kyaukmyaung township in Shwebo, north-west of Mandalay in Myanmar. A magnitude-6.8 quake struck northern Myanmar yesterday. Apart from the collapsing the bridge, it also closed a gold mine, damaged several old Buddhist pagodas and left as many as 13 people feared dead, including four workers who were flung from the bridge into the Irrawaddy River. publishes all comments posted on articles provided that they adhere to our Comments Policy.
