Edendale Road crash: 1 dead, 3 hurt

2014-10-29 00:00

ONE person was killed and three were injured in an accident on Edendale Road yesterday afternoon.

The Witness understands from official sources at the scene that a car travelling from the CBD towards Edendale veered off into oncoming traffic in the vicinity of Hulamin.

The car collided head-on with a police vehicle and then crashed onto the roof of another car, before knocking down a pedestrian. Three people including a police officer were seriously injured and taken to hospital, while the driver of one of the vehicles died at the scene.

Police at the scene said the road was becoming “a real problem”, especially in the rain.

“This is something that needs to be looked at because this is the second accident in a short space of time; there was another serious one a short while ago.”
