2011-05-25 00:00

TEN computers stolen from the Nizimia Primary School in Muskawana Street on Monday night — after a break-in in which the security guard was assaulted — were recovered in an intelligence operation by the Pietermaritzburg crime intelligence unit within 12 hours in a flat in the same street.

The security guard was admitted to hospital.

In another operation the unit recovered a home theatre system, plasma television set and other electrical appliances from a home in Greyling Street.

The items were allegedly bought in fraudulent transactions from Hirsch’s in Durban and Game in Pietermaritzburg.

The total value of the items recovered in the operations is estimated at more than R100 000.
