RAPPER Eminem will perform his controversial lyrics for the first time on African soil next year. Showtime Management yesterday announced Eminem’s Rapture tour will be staged twice, first in Cape Town on February 26 and then in Johannesburg on March 1. Eminem (real name Marshall Mathers) is one of the most successful rappers of his time, with 13 Grammys, one Oscar and 80 million albums sold. In South Africa his first seven albums were all top sellers. His lyrics are known to be honest but shocking. His eighth and latest album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, was released earlier this month. Critics rated this album highly and the Guardian described it as one of the coolest albums of 2013. The new album has already sold 750 000 copies. About his recent live performances in the UK, the newspaper said that he is still as good as ever on stage. Tickets for the two shows can be bought through Computicket from November 21.
