Eskom: Ready for World Cup

2010-05-26 00:00

ESKOM has declared itself ready to deliver an uninterrupted supply of electricity for the Fifa World Cup.

Eskom has been preparing itself for the tournament since 2007 and after a recent study conducted by the Korean Power Company, which Eskom commissioned to gauge its own preparations, Erica Johnson, Eskom’s chief officer of customer network business, believes the company is ready.

“We are confident that Eskom will be able to deliver sufficient bulk electricity supplies, ensuring a reliable power supply during the World Cup.

“To achieve this objective, Eskom has embarked on a comprehensive programme, involving staff and external stakeholders, to cover all facets of the event,” said Johnson.
