Estcourt school shattered by teacher’s death

2010-10-28 00:00

WHILE the two suspects sought by the police in connection with the murder of Anna-Marie Rohrs remain at large, her friends and colleagues continued to mourn her death yesterday.

Rohrs was a grade 6 and 7 teacher at the Saint Gregory’s Primary School in Estcourt.

Her school principal, Fally Shaw, said she would be sorely missed. Shaw said yesterday they had called on the services of a pastor to counsel the children and help them cope with her death.

“I do not think the reality has set in for the children as this is only the second day that she had been absent. I believe the reality will only set in later on.”

She said the school had been devastated by the death. “This is a small school with just nine staff members and we are all trying to support each other through this loss.”

The Democratic Alliance also passed their condolences to the Rohrs family and described the death as another attack on the farming industry.
