Exhibition: find your own identity

The KwaZulu-Natal Society of Arts (KZNSA) members’ annual exhibition, Id entity, opened on January 22 and runs at the KZNSA gallery in Durban until February 16.

This year, the theme is identity, described by social scientist Melanie Judge as a process of differentiation, a description of one’s own group and simultaneously a separation from others. Today, contemporary social theory understands that the process of identity formation implies that identity is fluid, in constant flux.
