FET lecturer missing

THE family and friends of an Appelsbosch campus FET lecturer are frantic with worry after he went missing without a trace 11 days ago.

The 27-year-old electrical engineering lecturer, Joseph Sandile Bambiso, was last seen in Ashdown by a friend.

According to police spokesperson Captain Thulani Zwane, Bambiso was reported missing at the Plessislaer police station on August 2 and had been missing since Sunday, July 27.

He had been driving his silver VW Polo (NP 39252) when last seen, said Zwane.

Bambiso’s friend and house-mate Sthembiso Mdluli said he did not suspect anything was wrong, because he thought Bambiso had gone back to Appelsbosch.

He said Bambiso is light in complexion, of average build and about 1,6 m tall. He has short black hair, a short black beard and a moustache. When last seen, he was wearing black jeans, a blue jacket and black shoes.

FET human resources officer Dineo Mzizi told The Witness that when Bambiso did not fetch a colleague for work, and then failed to arrive at the college, they started phoning his friends to try and establish his whereabouts.

Bambiso is originally from the Idutywa area in the Eastern Cape, but owns a house in Ashdown.

Police have asked for anyone with information regarding Bambiso’s whereabouts to contact the investigating officer — Detective Captain Morris Dladla of the Plessislaer Detective Services — on 033 398 9703 or 082 798 8155.
