‘FHM’ Models 2010: local beauty takes the throne

2010-03-04 00:00

LOCAL model Charne Slee (23) has won the FHM Models 2010 title, beating 100 other women to the throne.

Charne is a former Carter High School pupil who now lives in Johannesburg.

The competition has been running for two months with contestants campaigning through various events, including fashion shows.

“I just knew that I have what it takes because I love modelling. Besides my job as a project administrator for a Gauteng-based IT company, I’ve always made time for modelling and the results are there for all to see,” said a delighted Slee.

“The prize money I have won is nothing compared to the fact that I’ve been given an opportunity to build my name and create a personality for myself,” she added.

When Slee made it to the top 10 she said she knew how difficult competing in the top 10 would be, but never lost her confidence.

Her mother Shelley, a local estate agent, is as excited about her daughter’s achievement.

She said she knew that her daughter was capable of achieving great things.

“I’m the proudest mother in the world and I’m fully supportive of my child as long as what she does is closest to her heart,” she said.

As part of the prize package, Slee will be doing a photo-shoot with FHM for the May issue.

She was also made an ambassador for the “Say No to Size Zero”, a campaign against anorexia and bulimia, run by designer Steph G.
