Fabulous pictures: Tatham gallery receives donated artwork from Stidy

2012-11-21 00:00

Getting the last entries in for The Fabulous Picture Show are Tatham Art Gallery interns (from left) Bonwa Mbantsi and Emma Harrison, who yesterday received original artworks from The Witness cartoonist Anthony Stidolph (aka Stidy). One of the most anticipated annual events in Pietermaritzburg, The Fabulous Picture Show, presented by the Friends of the Tatham Art Gallery, sees over 250 original artworks auctioned on November 30 at the Tatham Art Gallery. Paintings and original artworks donated by well-known and aspiring KwaZulu-Natal artists are included in this professionally-staged exhibition, which runs from the official opening on Sunday at 11 am to the final auction on November 30 at 6 pm. The Tatham Art Gallery, normally closed on Mondays, will also be open on November 26. Secure parking is available in the Tatham Grounds (Church Street side). All funds raised from The Fabulous Picture Show go toward the acquisition of new artworks for the Tatham Art Gallery’s permanent collection, rated as one of the finest and most culturally inclusive in South Africa.
