Facelift: Madlula’s Place to relaunch

2011-03-01 00:00

ONE of Pietermaritzburg top night spots, Madlula’s Place will relaunch on Friday after an extensive, two-month revamp.

Owner Skhumbuzo Madlula said yesterday: “We are bringing in the deep house music sensations like 5FM’s DJ Euphonik, G-Funk and other supporting local deejays.”

Madlula said they spent R270 000, adding a stage so they can offer a wider variety of entertainment and giving the dining area a facelift to complement a new menu.

He said they will not only focus on deejays, but also aim to create an entertainment hub in the city.

“We will bring comedians, deejays, poets and live performances on different occasions so that we have a variety of entertainment activities.”

Madlula added he is going to be involved in a more “hands- on” way to ensure the quality of the venue.

He added they will be working with event organisers like Sqizozo Production, Joys of Life and Umphumela Events.

The entrance fee is R80 from 9 pm to midnight and R100 after that.
