Family still in mourning

2010-04-28 00:00

THE Hansraj family, who lost their 21-year-old daughter Swastika when her car was swept off the Woodhouse Road bridge into the flooded Msunduzi River, are still in mourning.

Her mother, Manju Hansraj, said yesterday, “We are taking it quite badly; we are still very sad.”

Hansraj said they were feeling especially upset because yesterday was Swastika’s birthday.

She said her daughter was “always such a livewire”.

She said the family thanks all the people who had helped to find their daughter’s body.

“We would like to thank the Mountain Rise Police, especially Colonel Gopez Govender, Captain Maistry, Jack Haskins and his team and Warrant Officer Joey Jeevan,” said Anand Hansraj, Swastika’s father.

He added, “Relatives and friends who helped endlessly in the search for our daughter … our heart and blessings go out to all of you.”
