Fan parks: Need for licences

2010-05-26 00:00

KZN’S Department of Development and Tourism has made a call to all organisers of fan parks and public viewing areas (PVAs) during next month’s World Cup to apply for special licences that will enable them to trade and distribute liquor during the tournament.

Department spokesperson Bheko Madlala said there is enough time left to do this.

Applicants will need to send a non-refundable fee of R5 000 along with their application, and are required to submit their applications no later than May 31.

Premises that are already licensed are not required to have a special licence during the tournament unless the holder will be conducting trade in a fan park or PVA outside their premises.
