Federer reveals his schedule for the new season

CAPE TOWN — Swiss tennis star Roger Federer has revealed his playing schedule for the 2014 season.

Federer (32) announced via his official Facebook page that he is due to play 16 events (excluding the World Tour Finals), starting in Brisbane this week.

Federer, the holder of a record 17 Grand Slam titles, had an indifferent 2013, winning only one title and failing to reach a major final for the first year since 2002.

He will also start the year with a new coach after six-time major winner Stefan Edberg joined his team.

Dubai (Feb 24 - Mar 2)

Indian Wells (Mar 3 - 16)

Miami (Mar 17 - 30)

Roland Garros (May 26 - Jun 8)

Halle (Jun 9 - 15)

Wimbledon (Jun 23 - Jul 6)

Toronto (Aug 4 - 10)

Cincinnati (Aug 11 - 17)

U.S. Open (Aug 25 - Sep 7)

Shanghai (Oct 6 - 12)

Basel (Oct 18 - 26)

Paris (Oct 27 - Nov 2).
