Only injured French star Gael Monfils drops out of December’s entry list. Germany’s world number 126 Simon Greul replaces Monfils. The last two spots have been taken by Italian Flavio Cipolla (127) and Switzerland’s Stephane Bohli (128). This makes up the 25 players who fill the direct acceptance list. The only South African to make the list is SA number one Kevin Anderson (104).

Three wild cards and four qualifiers complete the 32-man draw. SA’s Rik De Voest and Raven Klaasen are two of the wild cards with the third going to Friday’s SA Nationals winner at Montecasino.

The remaining four main-draw spots will go to four qualifiers, with the qualifying on Saturday and Sunday at Montecasino. A number of players from all over the world who did not make the main draw cut-off have jetted into Johannesburg.

The draw for the tournament will be conducted on Saturday.
