Finders not keepers of lost camera

2014-01-08 00:00

TWO students at the University of Pretoria want to return a camera that they had found on the highest peak in the Drakensberg on New Year’s Day, to its owner.

The friends, Niel Mostert and Nardus Heymans, both 22 years old, were hiking to Mont-aux-Sources, the highest peak in the Drakensberg, from the Ampitheatre when they saw the camera on the ground.

“It had been rained upon but the camera is still working,” said Mostert, who approached the paper in an effort to find the owner.

He said most of the photos on the Canon digital camera were of nature scenes and sunrises and sunsets. “There are three or four photos with people in them.”

Mostert said he and Heymans had so far not been able to find the owner.

• The owner can contact The Witness on 033 355 1127 to get in contact with the finders.
