Fire on N3: Traffic stuck for 5 hours

THE dramatic fire on the N3 north, where a truck caught fire near Ashburton yesterday, amazingly left no injuries.

RTI spokesperson Zinhle ­Mngomezulu said the driver managed to escape unhurt. Witnesses said the whole cab had been burnt out.

The fire caused massive delays on both sides of the freeway, with

Durban July racegoers and Johannesburg-bound traffic stuck on the N3 for up to five hours as the wreckage was cleared. Some traffic was diverted at the Lion Park turn-off.
