For the record: Gayadin 'reached agreement'

2009-12-24 00:00

LAWYERS acting for the Msunduzi Municipality in its case against businessman Sunny Gayadin have said that it is wrong to suggest, as reported in The Witness yesterday, that Gayadin had won the case.

In fact, an interim agreement was reached between the parties in which Gayadin’s vehicles would be returned to him, and that the municipality reserves the right to prosecute him for the spot fines and the costs of towing and pound fees.

A court order was granted, by consent, that Gayadin would not operate his business outside the boundary of his premises.

The application will proceed in the new year on the rights and wrongs of the case.
