‘For the time of your life’

THE charismatic Grant Shakoane, whose show, the GS Connection on Metro FM, launched catchphrases like “If it’s good it’s Grant” and “For the time of your life and life of your time”, is coming to Pietermaritzburg on April 17 to take his many fans down memory lane.

The event, VIP Grand Memories Jam, has been organised by Brimbo Events owned by Brian Zuma, who urged fans to get hold of some of the few tickets left for the show. “We have already pre-sold a percentage of the available seats. We are, however, releasing just over 100 tickets for general sale,” he added.

In addition to Shakoane, the line-up includes Zuma, a former P4 Radio and Radio Maritzburg DJ, and former YFM and former Metro FM DJ, Msizi Shembe, who currently hosts a successful show on Gagasi FM. He will do damage on the decks with hot Afro sounds.

Asked what fans could expect, Shakoane said part of his set will see him pitting two artists of the seventies and the eighties against each other. “It could be Luther Vandross and Teddy Pendergrass, but I am not confirming. The show will mesmerise you, it will be the show and you will have the best time of your life, after all if it is Grant, it is good!” he added.

The VIP Grand Memories Jam takes place at the Pietermaritzburg Botanic Gardens in Prestbury, starting at 6 pm. Tickets are R100 and include a light dinner meal and the standard entry fee for the garden.

Tickets are available at the Tourism Office at the Liberty Midlands Liberty Mall. No tickets will be sold at the gate. Please note — no drinks will be allowed into the venue.
