Four children injured in hit-and-run

2010-01-22 00:00

FOUR schoolchildren were injured yesterday afternoon in a hit-and-run incident on the Cramond road, ER24’s Derrick Banks said.

Banks said two of the children suffered minor to moderate injuries, while the other two were seriously injured.

The two children with serious injuries suffered severe fractures and needed advanced life support intervention before they could be moved to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment.

The other two children went with members of the public to hospital.

Banks said it is believed that the four children were walking in the road when they were knocked down by a passing vehicle. The light vehicle did not stop on the scene.

The authorities will investigate the accident, said Banks.
