GAY AND LESBIAN network goes pink

2010-12-16 00:00

THE Pietermaritzburg Gay and Lesbian Network is planning to turn Durban pink on Saturday when the Pink Mynah Festival parade swaggers down Florida Road with floats, feathers, high heels and everything pink.

Join the festivities, which get under way at Harvey’s at 10.30 am, before heading to Spiga D’Oro and Bean Bag Bohemia where the party continues in the park for the remainder of the afternoon.

At 7 pm the venue changes to Durban’s Bat Centre, on Victoria Embankment, where the 2010 Mr and Ms Gay KwaZulu-Natal will be chosen.

Tickets are R150 from the network and at the door.

The price includes entertainment by the Kevin Ellis dancers.

The parade is free of charge and everyone is welcome to march or to support the event from the street.

The pageant is the final event in a week of activities designed to draw attention to members of the gay and lesbian community, and to grow awareness of the Network.

Inquiries and tickets: Gail at 082 445 2577.
