Gauteng North, the 2007 SA Women’s Pick n Pay IPT champions, will be defending their title against tough competition at Umhlali Country Club from September 14 to 19 .

Last year, the pairings consisting of Yolande Storm, Henriette Frylinck, Zelda Smook, Eugenie Clack and Gina Switala, Kim Williams laid the foundation for their victory in the tournament.

After two close matches, beating both Gauteng Lions and North West, they had an overwhelming victory in their final match against Western Province to claim their prize.

The Jean Tindall Memorial strokeplay trophy, also the qualifying round for the matchplay, was won by the North West team.

“We are very excited to be hosting the championship in KwaZulu-Natal and especially at Umhlali Country Club,” said Erica Lefson, president of Women’s Golf SA.
