• Barry Ritson will be performing at Collegians Club until the end of September.

• Genie in the Bottle (in CB Downes Road) hosts karaoke and dance with DJ Mervin from 7 pm. Inquiries: 082 253 7076.

• The Kick ‘n Whistle behind the Woodburn Stadium hosts DJ Shaw who will provide music from the eighties to the present. Secure parking is available. Inquiries: 033 342 3528.



• Plush, the Ryan Calder Band, Starplayer and Red Light Stereo will be performing at Pecanwood (Howick). Tickets are R75 pre-booked or R100 at the door.

• Shamwari concert featuring Band of Brothers and Rastas at Work, at Shamwari Farm, Drummond from 5 pm. Tickets are R50.

• Kick ‘n Whistle Pub and Grill in PMB hosts Bev MacGregor, who provides a range of music for all tastes. The gig starts at noon. A roast is available, and booking is advised. Phone Jim at 076 074 4726.

• Club CP (Crystal Palace) hosts a massive bhangra party this Sunday from 8 pm. Dress up and get to CP.

• Mike from Marshall Music plays laid-back piano and keyboard favourites from 5.30 pm at the Nevada Spur at Cascades.

• Jammo will be performing at the Olive Tree from 1 pm with a very laid-back selection to kick off and the potential to get more lively later on. The Olive Tree is located next to McDonalds’ garden centre off Boshoff Street.



• Guy Buttery performs at the Red Door.

• Jammo continues his popular Wednesday night slot at the Nevada Spur at Cascades, with a wide range of feel-good numbers from 5.30 pm to 9.30 pm.

• Every Thursday is open mic night at Snap! Wine Bar in Durban from 7 pm to 11 pm. All welcome, no entry fee.

• August 28: Roger Lucey, Dan Chiorboli and Brendan Jury will be performing at Alliance Francaise.

• September 24 to September 27: The fourth White Mountain Folk Festival features Rambling Bones (alter ego of Jay Bones), Bertie Coetzee, Farryl Purkiss, Josie Field, Larry Amos, Gary Thomas, Laurie Levine, Redhand Blues Band, Joshua Grierson, Andra, Barry Thomson, Flowing Water Band, Catlike Thieves and more.
