• Ashtray Electric will stop in Durban at Unit 11 (191 Matthews Meyiwa Road), as part of the band’s national tour to promote their new album. The support act is La Els.

• Fiona Tozer and Anton Cawthorn-Blazeby will be performing at Emoyeni, from noon. Relax in a country atmosphere, with good food, great music and a cash bar. • Sharon Katz and the Peace Train will be playing at the Rainbow Restaurant. The hosts don’t ­normally do gigs before pay day, but Katz has a bunch of visitors from the United States who depart South Africa after this concert, so it was agreed to give them a footstomping Rainbow bon voyage.

• The El Sombrero Spur at the Scottsville Mall invites you to an evening of feel-good live music with Jammo, from 5.30 pm onwards.



• The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music at UKZN presents Barry van Zyl (drums and percussion), in collaboration with John Ellis (vocals and guitar) of Tree63 fame, at 5.30 pm.
