TONIGHT

• Justin V performs tonight at Murmur nightclub. Entrance at the door is R30 (normal) and R50 (VIP). There will be CD giveaways during the evening. Inquiries: 076 200 4494.

TOMORROW

• The Darren Bode Benefit Festival at Forgotten Falls, Howick, features a range of local musicians, including the Hairy Legged Lentil Eaters, Splayed Ferrets and Gloucester Blues Project. SUNDAY

• The Johnny Zest and Friends band will be performing over lunch time at the Lion Park Lodge, playing some of the old favourite songs from the past decades. Inquiries: 031 785 1104.

• Gerhard Britz performs at the Kick ’n Whistle (behind Woodburn Stadium). A three-course meal at R60 a head, and meals for children at discount prices are available. Entrance is free. Booking for lunch is advised: 076 0744 726.

• Brett Cox and Roly Struckmeyer perform every Sunday afternoon at the Stagecoach. Inquiries: 072 654 6224.

• Mike from Marshall Music performs piano and keyboard favourites at the Nevada Spur at Cascades from 5.30 pm.

• The Olive Tree features music with Jammo out on the deck over lunch and through the afternoon. Enjoy laid-back listening over lunch or have a few drinks from the pool bar as the music gets more lively later on.

 

TUESDAY

• The Olive Tree coffee shop hosts karaoke on Tuesday nights with Clareoke Connections. Karaoke starts at 7 pm until late. Bar open from 4 pm.

WEDNESDAY

• At the Stagecoach every Wednesday is open mic night with Brett Cox. Inquiries: 072 654 6224.

• Jammo continues his popular Wednesday night slot at the Nevada Spur at Cascades with a wide range of feel-good numbers from 5.30 pm to 9.30 pm.

• The Kick ’n Whistle welcomes back karaoke nights with Jen and Gary. Inquiries: 033 342 3528.

 

COMING UP

• November 5: Christian rock band Third Day perform in Durban at the Wavehouse, presented by Glamorous Productions. Andrew Webster and his band are the opening act fo the Durban and Pretoria concerts.

• November 6: Celtis and Mim Erasmus perform in Kloof at Bluestockings (formerly Luna Lounge Kloof), 16 Dan Pienaar Road, near Kloof High School, from 7.30 pm. Entrance is R60. High-energy Celtic dance meets the gentle flow of English folk song.

• November 6 and 7: Pig and Whistle presents Dancing in the Street (Hexagon Dive picnic evenings) at 7 pm for 7.30 pm. Take food but no drinks. There is a cash bar. Tickets: R65. To book, e-mail hexagon@ukzn.ac.za or phone 033 260 5537.
