Remembering Kenya: a tribute to the displaced people and victims of violence in Kenya, featuring the staff and students of the UKZN African Music and Dance programme. The compositions are by Shiyani Ngcobo (guitar), Perminus Matiure (mbira) and Brother Clement Sithole (umakhweyana bow). The venue is the Howard College Theatre from 12.15 pm until 1 pm. March 23. Suncoast hosts jazz musician Darius Brubeck and his Durban band Rolling Revolution from 2.30 pm until 4 pm. Brubeck formed a “Rolling Reunion” band that includes well-known musicians. The current Durban band consists of Paul Kock on alto sax; pianist/keyboardist Burton Naidoo; bass player Concord Nkabinde; drummer Bruce Baker; vocalist Pamela de Menezes and of course leader and pianist Darius Brubeck.
