• Stereo Candi Vol 5 CD launch, mixed by DJ Claude at Cafe Vacca Matta from 8 pm. DJ line-up include Claude, Andile, Sduz, Lips and Spice. Cost is R50.

• Maritzburg Golf Club features live music with Jammo in the restaurant tonight.

• Ryan Calder Band will perform at St Clements in Musgrave, Durban. Tickets are R40, and music starts at 8pm. The restaurant has a great menu.



• Dr H. Q. Nala Tehillah Song will be hosting a live DVD recording at the Durban Playhouse at 6.30 pm tomorrow. Tickets are available at ­computicket nationwide.

• DJs China, Claude, Nana, DJ M, King Sfiso, Sduz, Andile, Mtrappie, Lips and T-Roxter will be at Alex Demo Gardens. Dress code: all white. Cost is R100 if dressed in white, R150 if not.

• Origin in Clark Road, Durban, hosts the Saturday Surgery with 5FM’s Roger Goode, featuring Milkshake, Origin’s resident DJs and, for the first time, Cape Town’s DJ Wheels, who will rock the club from his wheelchair. The live broadcast will feature interviews, plenty of surprises. Doors open at 7 pm. Entrance is R60 before 10 pm. VIP is R100 from 7 pm to 10 pm. Origin members get in for free.



• Locnville are the next featured act at the Botanical Gardens. They will be showcasing tunes from their new album Running to Midnight. Supporting acts include Goodluck, DJ Ryan Dent, DJ Rockit and DJ Jay. Tickets: on General admission is R120, golden-circle tickets are R350. The day takes place from 10 am to 6 pm. Tickets can also be bought through Franki Bananaz, Crowded House and Butcher Boys. ­Children under 10 can get in for free.

• At the Rainbow Restaurant in Pinetown are ­McCoy Mrubata and Paul Hanmer in concert, presented in association with Castle Lager. Tickets are R60 presale, and R80 at the door. Doors open at noon, and the first set is just after 1 pm.

• The El Sombrero Spur at the Scottsville Mall invites you to an evening of live music with Jammo, from 5.30 pm onwards.

• Casual Sax, running until September 3, has ­talented writer-performer Barbara-Anne Puren sharing her take on love, relationships and ­romance… with a little help from her sassy saxophone, at the Heritage Theatre, Hillcrest.
