Glencoe: storms cause blackout

THE Glencoe community was left in the dark on Tuesday night following severe storms that damaged Eskom power lines.

In a statement Eskom said about 8 000 customers were affected and are without power supply.

“Eskom emergency teams have been working since last night to restore power in the area. We expect to have the power restored within 48 hours,” it said.

The power utility expressed its gratitude to all its customers for their patience and assistance in this extended outage.

It requested all its customers who have power outages to report the faults in order that repair teams can locate and repair the damages.
