Goals galore at indoor hockey tourney

2008-02-22 00:00

THERE were lopsided results for the KZN teams on day one of the men’s and women’s U21 indoor hockey tournament in Durban yesterday.

In the men’s competition, KZN Midlands A enjoyed two thumping victories, while their arch-provincial rivals, the Durban-centred KZN Coastal A side, won as convincingly in their encounters.

• The KZN Coastal A team and the Southern Gauteng line-up look to be the teams to beat in the women’s competition after convincing wins on day one.

There was also valuable experience earned by the schoolchildren taking part in both competitions.

The tournament finishes tomorrow evening.
