Golf: Hilton boys tour Thailand

EIGHTEEN Hilton College golfers were fortunate to be selected for a golf tour to Thailand, playing on some of the country’s finest courses.

The tour included participation at the World Schools’ Golf Championships (WSGC).

The “A” team of Tyron Searle, Rourke Lauryssen, Jarryd Edy and Matt Lauryssen came second in the WSGC, which was played over three rounds.

The team had ended tied first with Whangerei of New Zealand, but lost on a count-out.

Searle ended third best player at the tournament in a field of 112 players. His gross scores of 73, 73, 75 and 75 gave him a nett score of 278.

Edy ended sixth in gross and fifth in nett scores overall, with scores of 78, 72, 71 and 77. Stewart Hutchison ended 14th in gross with scores of 81, 76, 76 and 75, with Matt Lauryssen 16th with scores of 80, 78, 77 and 73.
