THE mass funeral service for seven people struck dead by lightning took place on Saturday at eNtuthuko in Pongola.

More than forty people were injured. Two victims remain in hospital for treatment.

The KwaZulu-Natal government undertook to pay all the costs of the funeral service.

It was attended by more than 3 000 people, including the Premier, Dr Zweli Mkhize, and members of the KZN Legislature.
