Hashatsi’s Summer Carnival

2010-12-16 00:00

YOUNG people in KwaZulu-Natal who are fans of e.tv’s youth show Craze, will be happy to learn that presenter Zola Hashatsi will be gearing up for a fun-filled Summer Carnival.

Hashatsi promises to give his fans an out-of-this-world experience with his acting and singing talents as he takes up the character Justin during the event.

“The audience will swear they are watching a pantomime or musical. It’s swift, quirky, upbeat and fun,” he said, adding that the aim of the carnival is to educate, entertain and inform as well as beefing up the festive summer mood.

Looking ahead to 2011, Hashatsi said: “Young people must stay away from doing crime and drugs and start the New Year with a positive outlook so that they are able to grab the opportunities presented by 2011.” He also warned teenagers not to succumb to peer pressure during the holidays.

During the Summer Carnival, which runs until December 20, fans will be able to take part in Pick n Pay’s treasure hunt, music and beach dancing, tug-of-war, relay races, sand-castle building and other exciting competitions. Children will also have the opportunity of seeing their favourite characters including Scooby-Doo, Bubbles, FourArms, Johnny Bravo and SwampFire.

Catch up with Hashatsi and the gang at St Michaels beach on the south coast from 10 am to 3 pm tomorrow; at the Gateway Theatre of Shopping in Umhlanga on Sunday, from 10 am to 5 pm; and at Ballito beach from 10 am to 3 pm on Monday.
