Head’s murder: 25-year-old held

A 25-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested in connection with the murder of the principal of Mashinga High School and is expected to appear in court on Monday.

Phiwayinkosi Ntombela (42) was found by police after they noticed his blood-stained black Tazz near the N2. Police spokesperson Captain Thulani Zwane said they called the K9 Unit to search the area, suspecting that the driver had been killed. Ntombela’s body was found in the bush with gunshot wounds.

Early yesterday kwaMbonambi police arrested a man in the Mfongomfongo area in Nquthu in possession of an unlicensed 9mm pistol suspected to be the murder weapon.

The firearm will be sent for ballistic testing. The motive for the killing is unknown.
