Heritage: call for award nominations

2011-07-26 00:00

AMAFA/HERITAGE KwaZulu-Natal is calling for nominations of people who have voluntarily contributed to preserving the province’s heritage.

Nominees must be unpaid volunteers who have worked for the preservation of heritage over a period of time: people involved in, for example, maintaining and protecting buildings at least 60 years old; archaeological or rock art sites; important graves; battlefields; heritage objects at least 100 years; or places of oral tradition.

Winners will be announced at a ceremony on Heritage Day in September. Nominations should go to Lindiwe Msomi at PO Box 2685, Pietermaritzburg 3200, lindim@amafapmb.co.za. The closing date for nominations is August 26.
