Hilton beaten at home

2013-11-19 00:00

MICHAELHOUSE continued their good form on the cricket pitch when they beat rivals Hilton by 47 runs at Hilton’s Hart-Davis Oval on Saturday.

First in to bat, Michaelhouse weighed in with a score of 181/7 in their 50 overs. The star for their innings was Brandon Tattam who contributed 88 not out to the total.

Stephen Reeves was the pick of the bowlers for Hilton as he took 2/23, while SA U19 fast bowler Lungi Ngidi ended with figures of 1/7.

Hilton fell short in their reply as Michaelhouse’s on-form Luke Stevens ripped through the batting order, taking four wickets for 29 runs.

A knock of 47 by Marc van Wymeersch was not enough as the home side were bowled out for 134, losing by 47 runs.

Michaelhouse’s victory over Hilton was the only game that took place over the weekend as Kearsney College’s clash with Westville Boys’ High School was called off due to the opening of the skies.

The result means that the highly rated Westville side finished the year unbeaten.
