Hilton schoolgirl beats thousands of hopefuls in magazine model hunt

HILTON teenager Hannah Edwards is the face of tomorrow.

The 15-year-old beat thousands of hopefuls from around the country to be announced the winner of the 2012 Saltwater Girl magazine model search.

The competition, presented by The Body Shop, began on October 1 last year.

Although Hannah didn’t think she stood a chance, she told The Witness she was very excited about winning.

“I don’t understand why I’m the winner,” she laughed.

Hannah said she never thought she’d even reach the top 30 because she felt that the other girls had a better chance of winning.

She believes she was the “least model-looking” person there, but admits she is “just chilled” to have won.

Now she is considering becoming a model because of the perks that come with the job.

“I enjoy getting glammed up. There is just something about the industry,” said the Grade 10 pupil at The Wykeham Collegiate.

She is thankful to her mother, who she said had “dragged” her to the competition because she thought it would be a great idea to enter.

“My mom is over the moon,” she said.

Hannah has won a modelling contract with Boss Models, an all-expenses-paid overseas trip and a fashion spread in Saltwater Girl magazine. She will also appear on the March cover of the magazine.

“We are excited to work with Hannah for our March 2013 cover of Saltwater Girl,” said Lisa Wust, marketing and events manager for Saltwater Girl.

The March issue will be on sale on February 2.
