Hoax: No load-shedding plans

2013-02-28 00:00

AN e-mail doing the rounds that Msunduzi Municipality will be carrying out load-shedding at the behest of Escom has been dismissed as a hoax.

Municipal spokesperson Brian Zuma said Msunduzi has no schedule and no plans for load-shedding. The e-mail purportedly presented a schedule of times when power was to be cut. The official-looking document was probably based on the load-shedding that occurred in 2008.

Zuma said this was “the mischievous work of a person or people with a particular agenda”. He added that the municipality was committed to providing an uninterrupted electricity supply and would endeavour to restore power as soon as possible in the event of problems.
