Horror crash funeral arrangements

2010-02-18 00:00

FUNERAL services have been organised for four of the Pietermaritzburg youths who were killed in Monday’s horror crash on the N3.

They were travelling from Durban to Pietermaritzburg when the driver lost control and their green Honda slammed into a steel support pillar of an overhead sign.

Only one passenger, Rowen Naicker, survived and is in an unchanged, but stable condition in a Durban hospital after surgery to his ribcage and diaphragm.

Lavania Govender’s funeral took place yesterday afternoon.

A joint funeral service will be held for sisters Alicia Lisa and Letitia Shedaé Pakkari at River of Life Christian Ministries today, beginning at 1 pm.

Keeran Sadhew’s funeral service will be held at Jubilee Bible Church at 11 am today.

A funeral service for Sherwin Moodley will begin at 11.30 am at the Christian Believers Fellowship today.

Pastor Thamo Naidoo at River of Life Christian Ministries said families and loved ones of the four were “shattered”.

The youngsters had formed a group of close-knit friends, whose families knew one another well.

“The community has really rallied together at this time,” Naidoo said.
