THE case of Jaycee Dugard, the woman who returned home 18 years after being abducted, made headlines around the world.

In today’s episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show at 5.35 pm, the talk show host talks to police officer Allison Jacobs and police specialist Lisa Campbell, who both trusted their intuition and helped break the case.

She also speaks to Steve and Marlene Aisenberg, whose daughter Sabrina went missing in 1997 when she was only five months old. They reveal what it has been like to live under a cloud of suspicion for the past 12 years.

Other highlights include:


• Grey’s Anatomy — M-Net, 7.30 pm: The residents of Seattle Grace and Mercy West vie for surgeries and their careers as day one of the hospital merger begins. Callie is furious when her father employs a priest to help convince her to date men.

• FlashForward — M-Net, 8.30 pm: Mark finds himself on the defensive while being questioned about the details of his flash-forward during a Senate intelligence committee hearing, which will decide whether to continue funding the FBI investigation.

• Ugly Betty — SABC3, 9 pm: It’s fashion week in New York and Betty is hustling to ensure Mode’s runway show goes off without a hitch. Meanwhile, Marc and Amanda resume their scheming ways in a bid to steal what will be the season’s hottest fashion item.


• Bar-One Manhunt — SABC3, 8.30 pm: This week’s episode sees the remaining contenders quite literally soaring to new heights. From aerobatics to skydiving, they fly higher than ever before in this action-packed, aviation-themed episode.

• Top Gear — BBC Entertainment (DStv channel 120), 8.30 pm: Petrolheads can’t afford to miss this episode, which features the world’s first-ever race between the 1 000 horsepower Bugatti Veyron and the McLaren F1.

• Playa —, 9.30 pm: The soccer-lifestyle show chats to Bafana striker Richard Henyekane about his rise to football stardom and to local kwaito group Amaroca, who have been stirring up national pride with their 2010 song.


• Desperate Housewives — M-Net, 8.30 pm: Losing Mike takes its toll on Katherine, Gaby grows wary of John’s intentions towards Ana, and Susan learns Julie has been harbouring some secrets.


• The Oprah Winfrey Show — SABC3, 5.35 pm: Oprah speaks to five women — mothers and grandmothers — who became victims of a 54-year-old playboy, Philippe Padieu, who used sex as a deadly weapon, infecting all of them with the Aids virus. They joined forces to put him behind bars.
