Hotels full ahead of final

2010-07-08 00:00

WITH the accommodation crunch in Johannesburg ahead of the World Cup final on Sunday, Protea Hotels Group sales and marketing director Danny Bryer said they have received a number of last-minute requests for accommodation from Europe, “but it’s a problem because the high demand previously has resulted in full hotels”.

Many fans are desperate enough to be at the final and are opting to stay in other cities and fly in just for the match, then fly out again straight after.

Bryer said there is no space in Protea hotels in Johannesburg and Pretoria, but that they are trying to find accommodation for fans in other cities.
