THREE men appeared in the Sawoti Magistrate’s Court last Tuesday on charges of housebreaking and theft.

They were arrested on Monday night in Dududu near Scottburgh.

Crime prevention unit officers and detectives with Dududu police station arrested the men after a four-day investigation.

A large quantity of items thought to be stolen was recovered.

They included an array of computers, monitors, hard drives, a trophy, brushcutter, digital camera, which were recovered at Ntabaskop, Dududu, Amahlongwa and Umlazi, where it is believed that some of the property was sold.

The items have been linked to recent burglaries at the Dududu Drop-In Centre and Zembeni Primary School.

Detective Warrant Officer Zenzo Cyprian Cemane condemned the theft of computer equipment from schools.

Scelo Lili Mthethwa (21) and Buyani Mbutho (23) of Dududu and Zamokuhle Gebashe (22) of Amahlongwa were arrested for housebreaking and theft.

The case was postponed for further investigation.
