Housing: Durban must house 37

TOP Durban officials have been given three months to house a group of disgruntled homeless people or face possible jail time.

Yesterday, the high court in Durban ordered eThekwini Mayor James Nxumalo, city boss Sbu Sithole and the head of housing to find homes for 37 families of Richmond Farm Transit Camp in KwaMashu.

Failure to do so could see contempt charges brought against them in their private capacities, with a fine or possible imprisonment.
