IPL: With Tendulkar down, Mumbai Indians lose to Chennai Super kings

2010-04-07 00:00

THE Mumbai outfit had to chase down a target of 166, but it never looked likely from the moment talisman Sachin Tendulkar had to retire due to dehydration.

Before his exit, Mumbai had strode quietly but confidently to 56 for one in eight overs, with Tendulkar looking in serene touch on 35 off 25 balls.

But the Little Master’s ailment was to prove crucial for the Indians, whose middle-order showed little resistance.

Tendulkar aside, the Mumbai outfit was never at the races, and the loss would have been heavier had it not been for the belligerent Harbhajan Singh, who was bowled by Doug Bollinger to seal a 24-run victory.
